We take pride in our craftsmanship when doing each project, no matter how big or small. Our goal as a preparation company is to service our clients to the best of our ability. We keep in constant contact with our clients and keep them informed as their fossils undergo the preparation and/or casting process. We have many years experience in professionally preparing fossils and know the fossil market very well. We work with both large multi-million dollar projects as well as small private projects, no job is too big or too small.
We have a high standard for both preparation and casting. For our replicas, we do not deal in the retail market, we are too busy in the lab and the field. Instead, we utilize online and physical merchants for selling our customers replicas. We are also the only producers of the replicas, so the quality is consistent!
When hiring CKP for your preparation needs, we include the following in our fee:
1. Lab journal that records the exact time, date, processes, and materials used for the project.
2. Still digital photographs of the processes.
3. Hi-Def Digital Video of the project.
These three methods ensure that all of the processes done to the fossil are recorded, adding both monetary and scientific value to each specimen.
We have worked for both the public and private sector and utilize the top equipment and consolidants for working on your fossils. We only use museum accepted glues for our projects.
Rates for Preparation and Molding:
We charge $80.00 per hour for preparation and mold making. When making molds, we retain the molds for producing casts unless our client wants the molds. If this is the case there is an additional charge for obtaining the molds depending on the scale of the project. We are very meticulous on recording the time spent on each project. The video and lab journal ensure our clients that each minute spent is productive! Upon completion of the project, the client receives their fossil and a copy of all of the documentation done during the project. The Hi-Def video comes on a DVD. The client owns the rights to the documentation and CKP retains the right to use the documentation for portfolio purposes only. Our rate is higher than most companies, but we go the extra mile for our customers!

You must contact ahead for availability. We will consult on your project at no charge. If we decide to take your project, we will give you an estimate for the entire project and ask for a 50% deposit before beginning your project.
